DAHJ is excited to announce a new addition to our team!
We are very excited to introduce the newest member of the DAHJ team, Samantha Alexis Manuel, who is our editorial assistant for layout. She is currently an undergraduate 4th year student attending UCLA as a Communications major double minoring in Art History and Digital Humanities.
She has interned at museums, galleries, and archives, including the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), and Center of the Study of Political Graphics (CSPG) focusing on the development of exhibitions, marketing/design, arts administration, and digital archival practices. She coordinated and planned "Our Voices, Our Getty: Reflecting on Drawings", a selection of rarely seen drawings from the Museum’s collection, accompanied by personal interpretations written by the 2022 cohort of interns, and to be presented at the J. Paul Getty Museum in February 2023. She has also interned for grassroots art and culture non-profit organizations to help develop and execute integrated and accessible public art, arts programming, and experiential installations.
Samantha aspires for an arts administration career and desires to learn how we can increase accessibility and advocacy within arts/culture based institutions.
